U.S. Rep. Lamb returns to Veterans' Affairs Committee, appointed chairman of Congressional Steel Caucus

Jan. 25--U.S. Rep. Conor Lamb, a Marine Corps veteran, has been reappointed to the House Committee on Veterans' Affairs and been appointed chairman of a caucus representing steel-producing regions.

"I'm grateful for the opportunity to return to the Veterans' Affairs Committee and continue working to ensure that every veteran in America gets the care, support and opportunities they've earned," Lamb, D-17, Mount Lebanon, said in a statement.

Lamb said there were "some real bipartisan accomplishments on the committee last year" and he looked forward to repeating those in the coming session under committee Chairman Mark Takano, D-Calif., and ranking minority member U.S. Rep. Phil Roe, R-Tenn.

"I look forward to working with them and all of our new and returning members to make sure we keep the promises we've made to all the men and women who have served our country and put their lives on the line to protect us," Lamb said.

It was also recently announced that Lamb will lead the Congressional Steel Caucus, a bipartisan group of more than 100 members that deals with steel industry issues.

"America produces the world's best steel, and southwestern Pennsylvania produces the world's best steelworkers," Lamb said in a press release. "I'm excited for the opportunity to lead this bipartisan group and work with my colleagues from both parties to help strengthen the steel industry to protect American jobs and American workers."
