Easton's State Theatre to honor veterans with free show tickets

Oct. 30--As Veterans Day nears, Easton'sState Theatre is honoring those who served in the military with free tickets.

Tickets to the performance by singer Jim Witter of "Fire and Rain," a tribute to the musical era of James Taylor and Carole King at 7:30 p.m.Nov. 15 are normally $30.

But for veterans, two tickets to the show will be free while supplies last. Additional tickets for veterans are $13.50, including fees.

The tickets are available at the theater box office at 453 Northampton St., Easton, or by phone at 800-999-STATE. There is a limited number of tickets available, and the offer is not available with online sales.

The show is sponsored by Easton radio station WODE-FM, 99.9 The Hawk, Farmers Insurance John "JT" Tsiouvaras and the Donald B. and Dorothy L. Stabler Foundation.

Veterans Day, which honors people who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces, is Nov. 11.

Singer-songwriter Witter has released three albums and had 10 songs hit the Top 10 on Canadian country radio. He was nominated for Canada's Juno Awards for Best New Solo Artist and Best Country Male Vocalist in 1994, and his third album, 2003's "Forgiveness," was nominated for a Gospel Music Association Dove Award for Album of the Year in 2004.

Witter performed a show of the 1970s hits of Billy Joel and Elton John at State Theatre in 2018.
