Mental health urgent care seeing more youth than expected

May 29—About a quarter of the patients so far at Family Guidance Center's new behavioral health urgent care center have been under 18 years old, which has the agency adapting its resources.
The behavioral health center has worked with 196 patients since opening the new clinic in April, and 48 of those were youth. The numbers are higher than anticipated and only expected to increase going forward, Ashley Kautz, the director of Behavioral Health Urgent Care Center, said.
